In yet another sign of the absolute dominance Donald Trump held in this year’s election, the support for the former president grew from 2020 in every single state with the exception of one. While two states – Arizona and Nevada – are still tabulating their final ballots, Trump is leading with the majority counted. And he already holds 295 of the 270 Electoral College votes needed to secure a victory, so the results there won’t make a difference. The stunning 2024 election saw Republicans regain control of the Senate and had Trump run away with a win over Vice President Kamala Harris by regaining every state he lost from 2016 to 2020.And even in most of the states that went blue, Trump’s margin of support improved. Donald Trump took a commanding victory in Tuesday’s election, which saw him improve in support from 2020 to now in every single state except for oneThe only state where Trump didn’t perform better than in 2020 was in deeply progressive Washington state, where he only decreased support by 0.3 percent from the last election cycle to this one.The former president, and now president-elect, made remarkable strides in his support in Democratic states of California, New York, New Jersey and Maryland. While those states still voted for Harris to become the next president, Trump’s support increased by 12 percent, 11.6 percent, 10.8 percent and 10.3 percent, respectively.Although not as staggering as the blue states, his best improvements in states that did vote him into office came in Florida, Texas and Mississippi – with margins improving by 9.8 percent, 8.3 percent and 7.5 percent, respectively. He also made notable strides in Tennessee, by 6.4 percent, and South Carolina, by 6.1 percent. While Trump is on track to sweep all seven of the 2024 swing states, his picks-ups there were by a much smaller margin.

Trump supporters go absolutely wild during Donald Trump’s victory speech in West Palm Beach, Florida in the early hours of Wednesday morningAs of Thursday afternoon, the race has not yet been called in Arizona and Nevada, but Trump is leading and the figures below are based on the states of the race at time of publishing. So far, the former president is likely to see the biggest margin of victory in Arizona, where so far he has picked up 5.1 percent more support compared to the final results in 2020. The same can be said for Nevda, where Trump has so far improved his support by 1.4 percent.Trump’s largest final increase among swing states is in red-leaning North Carolina with 3.4 percent improvement.Michigan follows at 2.5 percent from the last election cycle to this one and then Georgia with 1.9 percent.Trump has only seen marginal improvements in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, where those who voted for him shifted to the right by 0.8 percent and 0.3 percent, respectively. Although small, it was enough to shift the battleground states in his favor and help him win another term in the White House. The presidential election results in Arizona and Nevada have yet to be called as of Thursday afternoon
