He told listeners on a live stream on Spaces, an audio streaming feature of X: ‘I’ll be there with President Trump and JD and a bunch of other cool people. They have a great sense of humor.’Even going as far as to claim he might announce the election result on X with Trump ‘if the votes are clear enough that there is victory.’Musk announced his support for the former president earlier this year after the July 13 assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, despite saying in 2022 that ‘it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail into the sunset’.Under Musk’s ownership, and with his decision to endorse Trump, many are concerned that he might use X and his influence on the platform to tip the scales in favour of the Republicans.Musk, whose tweets reportedly receive special amplification to his more than 200 million followers and the site’s half-a-billion monthly users, frequently posts about his support for the former president. Throughout this election, he has posted incessantly in support of Trump, just yesterday he claimed ‘Men are voting in record numbers,’ and predicted a ‘massive sea change’ in Mr. Trump’s favor as a result. He reshared posts from other Trump supporters and peppered his replies with American flag emojis, and even shared a photo of himself wearing a leather jacket adorned with a voting sticker. ‘Just voted in Cameron County, Texas, home of Starbase!’ he added, referring to a facility for his rocket company, SpaceX.He even used the platform to accuse Google of interfering with the election, after it allegedly showed voters where they can vote for Kamala Harris – but not for Donald Trump.When a voter on their phone typed into Google: ‘Where can I vote for Kamala Harris?’, Google responded with a map showing the nearest polling station. But when searching ‘Where can I vote for Donald Trump?’, no such map appeared, prompting the user to enter their full address. Google, however, has said that the ‘Where to vote’ panel is appearing on some specific searches because there is a county named ‘Harris’ in Texas.

The ex-Federal Election Commission general counsel Larry Noble told the Guardian: ‘When Musk bought Twitter and rebranded it as X, he complained that it had been unfairly censoring conservative viewpoints and he wanted to make it an uncensored marketplace of ideas.’It now appears that Musk is using his wealth and ability to reach hundreds of millions of followers with lies and debunked conspiracy theories about how elections are being administered.’Now that he has fully and openly embraced Trump, he has joined Trump and his other minions in spreading the claim that the only way Trump can lose the upcoming election is if there is widespread fraud. Of course, they are already claiming, without credible evidence, that election fraud is already taking place.’
