ECI announces By-Elections for Four Assembly Seats in Punjab

The ECI has announced by-elections for four assembly seats in Punjab: 10-Dera Baba Nanak, 44-Chabbewal (SC), 84-Gidderbaha, and 103-Barnala.
Divulging the details, Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C stated that, as per the program issued for these by-elections, the notification will be issued on 18 October.  The last date for filing nominations is 25 October and the scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on 28 October, while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is 30 October.
Sibin C informed that voting will take place on 13 November, and the counting of votes and announcement of results will be done on 23 November.
He further stated that with the announcement of the by-elections, the election code of conduct has come into effect in the districts where these constituencies are located: Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Sri Muktsar Sahib, and Barnala. The code of conduct will remain in force until the completion of the election process till 25 November.
