Viewers tuning into the Disney+ adaptation of Dame Jilly Cooper’s 1988 ‘bonkbuster’ Rivals have to wait all of nine seconds before the first sex scene – a thrusting mile high encounter on Concorde no less, plays out. The opening episode of the much anticipated eight-parter about the lives and loves of two fierce rivals, regional TV station controller Lord Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) and ex Olympian turned Tory MP Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell), is choc-a-bloc with steamy moments – with a sex-filled crescendo that promises to leave viewers blushing.Set mostly in an idyllic portion of English countryside, Disney+ has given Dame Jilly’s most risqué scenes in the ‘Rutshire Chronicles’ the full technicolour treatment – and even added some of its own sauce in to boot. The streaming channel has promised to bring a ‘2020s lens’ to the 1980s classic – a notoriously politically incorrect tale of sex and scandal in the English social elite.  Disney+’s adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s 1988 bonkbuster Rivals – which centres around an ongoing feud between regional TV station controller Lord Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) and ex Olympian turned Tory MP Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell)Ahead of the show’s release on the streaming platform next week, the show’s executive producer has said there’s an ‘equal opportunities’ approach to nudity. Dominic Treadwell-Collins has said viewers will see: ‘A willy for every pair of t***.’Indeed, few of the all-star cast – including Emily Atack as Tory wife Sarah Stratton, Aidan Turner as dashing presenter Declan O’Hara and Danny Dyer as electronics millionaire Freddie Jones, manage to keep their clothes on. Here, MailOnline picks out the raunchiest highlights from episode one:  A SUPERSONIC START: MILE-HIGH MISCHIEF ON CONCORDE     Quite the opener! Tabloid hack Beattie Johnson (Annabel Scholey) is pictured in a state of ecstasy after encountering Rupert Campbell-Black on Concorde The first scene of episode one of the Disney+ adaptation of Dame Jilly’s book sees Rupert Campbell-Black’s buttocks take centre stage before he coolly emerges to saunter back down the aisle to his seat The racy eight-part series is based on Jilly Cooper’s raunchy 1988 novel, and follows the cutthroat world of independent television in 1986 It’s no surprise that Concorde, the supersonic passenger jet that could get you from London to the Big Apple in just three hours, provides the backdrop to a very saucy opening Rivals encounter – only those with the wealth of Rupert Campbell-Black could afford to fly on it. And just nine seconds into the Disney+ adaptation, Cooper’s sex-obsessed protagonist is seen getting up close and personal with Fleet Street journalist Beattie Johnson – who’s wearing a perfectly 80s candy pink skirt suit, sunglasses and red stilettoes – in the aircraft’s compact loo.  Rupert’s buttocks introduce the show, thrusting over tabloid hack Beatrice, who has her heels nowhere near the floor and her matching red nails plunged into her lover’s skin. A champagne cork pops to mark Concorde’s ascent to a mile high, and moments later the cabin crew begin to wonder why the occupied sign is still on.  Shortly after a flustered-looking Beatrice emerges to take her seat, while Robert Palmer’s Addicted to Love blasts out. Moments later, Mr Campbell-Black, smooth-talking the cabin crew and winking at a passenger, saunters back down the aisle. ANYONE FOR TENNIS? RUPERT AND A FRIEND’S WIFE PLAY TENNIS IN THE BUFFIf the opening scene introduces viewers to Rupert’s thrusting backside, by the time the first episode is 22 minutes in, there’s a whole lot more on show.  A famous scene in Dame Jilly’s original 1988 book sees Rupert playing one of his favourite sports – tennis – ‘sans clothes’, and it’s enough to make viewers go as red as the strawberries at Wimbledon.    Rivals’ executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has said of the show’s raunchy content: ‘There’s a willy for every pair of t***’ – and that proves true 22 minutes in when Sarah Stratton (Emily Atack) and Rupert engage in a love match in the buff A full frontal featuring the lothario Olympian turned Tory MP hits viewers right between the eyes during the first episode While the character of Sarah flees when the naked match is interrupted, Rupert is happy to converse with his 18-year-old neighbour Taggie O while in the buff  His opponent in the match, which takes place on a secluded court in the grounds of his country pile, is Tory WAG Sarah Stratton (Atack). She’s married to the wife of Deputy Prime Minister Paul Stratton (Rufus Jones) but that doesn’t seem to worry either her or Rupert too much – and she too has also been very much liberated from any kind of tennis attire. Rivals’ executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins’s promise of full equality on the nudity front is certainly true here.Treadwell has has said of the show’s raunchy content: ‘There’s a willy for every pair of t***’ – and this particular naked love match serves up both. As the pair argue about whether a ball is ‘ten inches over the line’, their game is interrupted by 18-year-old neighbour Taggie O (Bella McClean) – while Sarah flees into the undergrowth, Rupert is entirely unfazed by his nudity.   A NOD TO POLDARK: AIDAN TURNER STRIPS OFF ONCE MORE  Aidan Turner, most famous for his role as Poldark – and taking his shirt off – in the long-running BBC series wanders around his family home, shirtless, with his trousers undone and smoking a cigarette The British actor plays handsome TV presenter Declan O’Hara – and is introduced to viewers much like he left them in Poldark – baring his chest  He garnered a lot of attention thanks to his rippling physique being on display in many scenes of the period drama, cementing his status as a Hollywood hunk (pictured left in Poldark, right in Rivals)Aidan Turner melted hearts as Ross Poldark in the 2015 revival of the BBC series – and viewers will be delighted to find a glimpse of the Cornish heatthrob in Rivals. The first episode sees him, grumpy, smoking and stripped down to the waist once again as he gets dressed while wandering around his family home. Aidan is portraying intelligent TV presenter Declan O’Hara, whom will be convinced to leave the BBC for independent channel Corinium, only for him to feel let down. There’s plenty more Poldark nods too: one of the fictional TV shows that’s featured in the series is called Four Men Went to Mow and sees farmers carrying out their work with their tops off. ‘When I read the script, I was like, ‘Why have you put this in? It’s too close [to Poldark]’ Turner told The Times earlier this year – but references to the Cornish heartthrob are likely to prove a hit with Rivals fans  (pictured above in the Rivals trailer)Aidan even yells: ‘TV can’t just be men taking their tops off!Discussing the moment with The Times Culture Magazine, the actor joked: ‘When I read the script, I was like, ‘Why have you put this in? It’s too close [to Poldark].”But then they told me it’s in the original books – and it’s so funny. The first time I did that scene, people were laughing. It’s good to poke fun at these things.’Aidan has also undergone a transformation, sporting a distinctive moustache to play TV presenter Declan O’Hara.Declan is described as fiercely intellectual, with an even fiercer temper, and is wooed to Corinium TV from the BBC by Tony.THE CLIMAX MONTAGE…WHERE (ALMOST) EVERYONE IS INVOLVED Regional TV station controller Lord Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) is among a cast of characters appearing in the first episode’s racy final scenes  Far from being more conservative with Dame Jilly’s frisky novel; there’s arguably more sex, swearing and nudity in Disney+’s adaptation than there was in the original bestseller If the first episode started with a bang, then it certainly ends that way, with almost every character introduced so far appearing in a montage of intimate moments – save for Rupert Campbell-Black. Sarah Stratton, after stepping off the tennis court, is involved in one of the scenes, with Deputy PM husband Paul Stratton. And Danny Dyer, starring as Freddie Jones, a self-made electronics millionaire, appears to be enjoying some time between the sheets way more than his social-climbing wife Valerie (Lisa McGrillis). There’s a same-sex encounter too as Charles Fairburn (Gary Lamont) gets to grips with a young lover – as Depeche Mode’s Just Can’t Get Enough plays over the top of the action.
