PWD Minister Lays Foundation Stone for Four-Lane Railway Over Bridge worth Rs 70CR

In a significant move to alleviate the growing traffic woes on the Tarn Taran-Amritsar old road, Punjab cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO laid the foundation stone for a four-lane over bridge at the A-25 railway line crossing (Kakka Kandyala railway crossing) today in the presence of MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal.
Interacting with media on this occasion, the ETO highlighted the increasing traffic problems in the historical city of Tarn Taran, which attracts lakhs of pilgrims visiting Sri Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran. He said that the construction of the four-lane railway over bridge, valued at approximately Rs 70 crore, will span 770 meters in length and 5.5 meters in width. He said that the project would be completed within one and a half years, bringing much-needed relief to commuters.
Minister ETO also praised MLA Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal’s development initiatives in his constituency. Meanwhile, Dr. Sohal expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO for fulfilling the long-standing demand for a railway over bridge. The MLA emphasized that thousands of pilgrims visiting Sri Darbar Sahib faced difficulties due to traffic congestion.
