Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, August 31-
Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Dr. Baljit Kaur, the department is celebrating September as Nutrition Month. During this period, a campaign to plant ‘one tree in the name of your mother’ will be launched across the state.
Cabinet Minister stated that, inspired by the Punjab Mann govt, the theme of making the state a green paradise—through the planting of a tree named after one’s mother—has been chosen as the central focus for Poshan Maah.
Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized that environmental pollution is a major challenge facing humanity today, and it threatens the security of our beautiful planet and the future of the human race. Therefore, it is crucial to plant more trees. However, trees should not only be planted but also nurtured. This campaign is part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing efforts to protect the environment. It is noteworthy that Poshan Maah will be celebrated from September 1st to September 30th across the state.
